BIO Lisa Baraitser is Professor of Psychosocial Theory in the Department of Psychosocial Studies, Birkbeck, University of London. She is the author of ‘Enduring Time’ (Bloomsbury, 2017) and the award winning monograph ‘Maternal Encounters: The Ethics of Interruption’ (Routledge, 2009).

She is currently Co-Principal Investigator with Professor Laura Salisbury of the Wellcome Trust funded research project, ‘Waiting Times’. She is a psychoanalyst and a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society.
